Lynsey of Swirlyarts

June 18th, 2008 by Andreanna

Most of Lynsey’s items are made from repurposed items. I really like her chickens. They are really cute and each of them is unique. Those lego tags are pretty neato too! Well let’s see what she has to say-

What…is your name?

My name is Lynsey Searle and I run Swirlyarts - oh and Cuteable! I also have a blog which is a mixture of real life and crafts.

What…do you make?

I make all sorts of things but mainly I recycle/repurpose things to make new things. I turn old papers into gift tags, stickers (I don’t have any to sell yet), envelopes and badges. I also make fabric chicken doorstops and I love to hunt down vintage fabric to make these. So I guess the main things are paper goods and chicken doorstops!

What… is your favorite color?

Purple - although I am a fan of most bright colours.

What… is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow? (Ok you really don’t have to answer this one.)

I guess it depends if his rocket boosters are working that day :)

What … is your main influence?

Bookshops influence me especially the bookshelves of charity shops etc. This is where I find most of the vintage ephemera I use. Also things that my daughters do - my elder daughter Anya inspired my ink blot ACEO’s and gift tags.

Where… is your shop?

Ooops - I’ve already put that in at the top! I also have a shop on Dawanda.
