Michelly makes some lovely art. I really fancy her revamped jewelry boxes.


What…is your name? Michelley QueenofQueens.

What…do you make? Color saturated paintings focusing on absurdity, isolation, nature and globalism. Upcycled handpainted jewelry boxes replete with lovely bohemian scrolling, vintage imagery and chippy paint. Reimagined vintage ceramics hand painted with creepy skull flowers, butterflies, and sea dragons. Jewelry that contrasts delicate feminine motifs with chunky badass chain work. Stuff like that.

What… is your favorite color? Twilight.

What… is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow? (Ok you really don’t have to answer this one.

If only you’d asked about a ladened swallow I could have been quite helpful.

What … is your main influence? The nexus where existential angst and absurdist joie de vivre meet for a tea party. While wearing very pretty dresses of course.

    Not shown here are her Slutty Self-Portrait, and her baby dolls…which I want! Not only is she a exquisitely fab artist, her heart sweats gold. Collecting her work is essentially, emotionally, and existentially gratifying. Plus it will grow hair! NICE INTERVIEW!

    Michelley is a great talent. She did a fantastic tattoo on me that all the NYC rocker girls are swooning for..I’m proud to say one of her paintings is hanging in my apartment right now.

    I love Michelley’s use of words!!Reading them I feel as if I was invited to participate in a great wonderland party in her head where she allows me and welcomes me every time : )
    Love her art, her “luscious” smile and presence!
